Hi, I’m Laurie

As a mental health professional, my passion lies in helping adolescents and adults improve their well-being. With my personal and professional experience, I deeply understand the challenges posed by mental illness, addiction, grief, loss, and life transitions. I want to help you with navigating these difficulties successfully.

Change is hard. One of my favorite quotes is 'This Too Shall Pass,' as it emphasizes the transient nature of all experiences, be they pleasant or unpleasant. During times of change, we may find ourselves struggling, whether in the midst of transformation or in its aftermath. Growth and progress can also be challenging and distressing. It's not uncommon to feel stuck.

I have over 25 years of experience in healthcare. I work with teens aged 13 and older, adults, and families. I work with student and professional healthcare providers, and first responders too.

PARENTS of Teens: Please see my services section FOR PARENTS.

I provide in-person care in the Dallas - Fort Worth area and virtual care throughout Texas. Together we can figure out a plan that works for you. If you want to make your mental health a priority, contact me!

I work with teens ages 13 and above, adults and families. I want to help you discover optimal wellness. I can diagnosis mental illness, prescribe medications, and provide therapy using different frameworks, processes and tools. I work with you to identify the best options to achieve your goals and improve your day-to-day life. This is not “one size fits all” treatment. Working together, we will consider pharmaceutical treatments, sociocultural factors, nutritional status, psychotherapy, and preventative medicine to help you with mental illness, substance use, and the promotion of overall wellness. I am also a Suboxone provider for opiate use disorders.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, a Master of Nursing Administration, and a Post-Master Certificate for Psychiatric Mental Health from the University of Texas in Arlington.

When I am not working with clients, I love live music, reading, cycling, exploring, and hiking with my dogs. I am a proud mother of three grown daughters and I value spending time with family and friends and finding new ways to cultivate a healthy and balanced life.
